These vintage style knuckles are reminiscent of the handmade designs produced in the early 20th century. Those were the days when every small town sheriff, private first class, and street hoodlum used brass knuckles everyday as a normal means of self defense and to improve punching power. In the days before boxing became a billion dollar industry, when men fought bare fisted, you might find a fighter sneaking these on to make it through a round.
The design of these knuckles was inspired by the World War One Clements Knuckle Knife, which is pictured below. Note that each oval finger hole is sized to match each finger of the hand and the butt is cloth padded for extra comfort.
