Great modern replica of an Au Lion 1918.
Rock-solid construction overall. No rattle between blade and hilt. Excellent weight, balance, and design. Stainless steel is plenty sufficient for a blade of this length and purpose, offering the significant advantage of corrosion resistance over high-carbon alternatives. Looks great on display, but could functionally deal serious damage if needed. One star off because while the edge was sharpened, a small section of the point appeared to be broken off or ground blunt (easy fix with a file). Scabbard retention is enough to secure the knife upside down, yet easy to draw and re-sheathe with minimal force and noise. The updated, closed belt loop works better for modern civilian carry than the open pistol belt hooks of the original WWI design. The only markings are "U.S. 1918," replicating the Au Lion manufacture. If you want an L.F. & C replica, Windlass Steelcrafts makes a pretty good one for not much more money. Overall, a solid, good-looking piece of memorabilia that could double as brutal weapon if necessary.
